Reflections of a Room

A solo exhibition at Volume Gallery, where a collection of pieces re-imagine familiar, mirrored objects as windows viewed at night, on view June 24 - August 13, 2022

Reflections of a Room is a collection of pieces that re-imagine familiar, mirrored objects, like a cosmetic mirror or medicine cabinet, as windows. In daylight, the reflectivity of a glass pane leaves a glimmering trace in the surrounding environment, while at dusk, the dimming exterior glow contrasts with interior illumination. From within a building, the window acts as a mirror and doubles the space as an image of itself. The project produces the reading of a room at night by delaminating the layers of a typical mirrored surface. The work entangles a network of material systems, revealing apparitions of adjacent, interior spaces that are simply reflections of its own.
