Mirrored Mirrors

A competition entry for the Logroño International Festival of Architecture and Design, where mirrored objects extend infinitely until they disappear, studied in 2021

Mirrored Mirrors is a series of large mirrored objects that require one to look in, to look out. Sprinkled along a river walk and garden, the wooden framed objects translate fragments of the landscape onto tangible, flat surfaces. The ground, built environment, sky and foliage are captured within mirrored frames, at times reflecting one’s view infinitely as an illusion of spatial depth. As a mechanism providing double vision, visitors occupy the space between a pair of inward eyes, extending a nearby grove infinitely until it disappears.
